As reported recently, Dandadan has outpaced both Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen to top the list of the most watched anime on Netflix, having gained more viewership even though it was released at the end of the year; this is a rather impressive feat, especially since both Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen are popular anime franchises.
Stroryline of Dandadan:
Manufactured by Yukinobu Tatsu, punishment is an action-rich supernatural thriller with a mixture of science-story, comedy and romance. The story is of a high school girl named Momo Ayase who does not believe in aliens, and her classmate Okarun, who refuses to accept ghosts. When they challenge each other's beliefs and detect mysterious places, they find themselves stuck in strange supernatural encounters.
Despite Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisan being largely franchise, Dandadan made a distinct identity by presenting something different. Instead of following the traditional Shonen anime formula, it combines several styles, attracting various audiences. Because of his huge audience, Dandadan managed to overtake Demon Slayer Season 4 and Jujutsu Kaisan Season 1. Produced by Science Saru, Anime topped and defying expectations. With the tremendous success of Dandadan Season 1, fans would not have to wait too long for more. The second season has already been confirmed and premiered in July 2025, which promises even more thrilling adventures.
